Radon mitigation complete

Radon Pipes
This is a shot looking into one of our crawl spaces (under our kitchen). The pipe on the right is the main venting pipe that comes up from the drain tile and vents to the roof. The other two pipes are pulling air from beneath plastic sheeting in each crawl space. You can see where one of them goes down into the plastic on the floor of this crawl space. The pipe going off to the left ends up in the other crawl space (beneath the family room).
So, it’s done. In a few weeks we will do another radon test. Val thinks it will be down below 1 pCi/L (which is good).

What was your radon level before?

I believe it was about 6 pCi/L. Are you concerned about your radon level?

No, I tested it a couple years ago and it was 1.2.
I have an example data set that I’ve used in class for many years that came from a textbook. They repeatedly exposed radon detection devices to a fixed amount of radon gas to see what reading they obtained and test the accuracy of the devices. They level they exposed them to was 98 pCi/L! I had no idea if that was high or low until I had a home inspector in my class one semester.
